‘With All the Resources I have’

Learning new languages in migrant contexts

May 20 – July 5, 2026
A six-week online course for anyone who works with adult immigrants

LESLLA and EU-Speak are thrilled to offer this new course (module) designed by Mari D'Agostino and Clelia Farina (Palermo, Italy), and Egle Mocciaro (MUNI, Brno, Czech Republic) in English, French, Italian and Spanish. Increasing complexity of linguistic spaces everywhere presents challenges for practitioners working with immigrants learning a new language who speak two or more languages. The course covers plurilingual and mixed-lingual communicative practices among adolescents and young adult sub-Saharans who have resettled in high numbers in Palermo, Italy.  The wide and deep experience of those working with them raises issues relevant to anyone anywhere and audio and video materials from teaching workshops introduces a new model of teaching for participants’ exploration.

Since 2015 our asynchronous theory + practice courses representing 30 hours of engagement have been taken by over 3,000 practitioners worldwide who work with this learner population. The course’s multi-lingual Discussion Forum and mentors support participants in making sense of research presented in course content. Reading academic publications is not required; a course Resources Folder makes provides access to relevant resources to participants wishing to consult them.

Hosted on Moodle, a $55 fee provides administrative and technical support, access to the course until the end of July, and a personalized certificate of completion.

Fee payment triggers access to the course via an enrolment key we will email you.

Group and LESLLA members receive a 25% discount on the enrolment fee. To make an organizational or group booking, please email us before registering.
